r/Maliciouscompliance I Tricked My Stupid Boss Into Paying Me Extra 💰💰💰

r/Maliciouscompliance In today's episode, OP starts working at a company where his friend is also an employee. When OP's friend realizes that OP is making more than her, she starts to jealously harass OP, forcing him to take on extra projects and work on weekends. OP is more than happy to comply because he's racking up overtime! OP's friend thought that she was making OP's life miserable, when in reality she was just helping him make fat stacks 💰

  • Being "busy at work" in an office environment is exactly like that and I don't live in the US. Office work is inhumane in a way people cannot understand if they haven't worked in an office, especially some form of large office with cubicles. You get degraded to a corporate drone and are expected to behave like a drone. Unless you are hurting corporate, no one will actually care for you, so you don't do more, because you don't benefit from it, you just make sure no one sees fit to replace you on the spot, since you position isn't special, there is always a replacement for you. So you do the work required of you, keep you head down so you don't attract the dreaded overtime you don't get reimbursed for at the end of the year (and maybe game the system to your advantage a bit)

If my cowoker was better at job then me despite less experience I'd have no prob, good for them. The coworker in vid should've token anger out at boss if she felt stiffled

The police report did clearly state no one driver was at fault. I know different countries, different peoples, different laws and all that but still the police report should have more weight. Also that driver didn't consent to being recorded. I'm just ranting. Sorry

  • I had a job in the engineering field as tech and logistics support since I had dual degrees in electronic engineering and computer science. When I was hired with my company, it was a large DiD consulting firm, I was sent to a military base to run the robotics shop that was responsible for all of the sensitive electronics equipment and robots used in all branches of the military. There was one civil service tech who thought that he was in charge since he had been at this shop for nearly 20 years. So he was not happy about my employment there. 1st, he tried to insist that I wasn't following established procedures in diagnosing, repairing, and testing of the equipment. His way was to take a repair item, check to see if it turned on, and whether it did or didn't them to put it away and add it to the waiting list to repair it. The shop had a 2 year wait list backlog, and he claimed that only two items per week could be worked on per the procedures. No such procedures existed, and I instructed everyone to diagnose and then repair every piece because their annual raise and performance bonus would be based on how much they accomplished. He pitched a fit of course, but was told that it was my shop, not his, so my rules. Also, they informed him that he made the least amount a civil servant could make with h la long he had been a tech. So, that was why I was being paid about 10 times what he made annually, he freaked again. Do them six months, I had nearly 5000 units repaired and returned to service and no more backlog. Oh, and he was fired with cause for racism, poor performance, and not showing up for work. The department years for the government had been trying to fire him for over a decade, but I made it happen because I had cameras installed throughout the office and shop that caught all of his frequent explosions, racial rants, and slacking off.

Not only do they want to monitor you and look for flaws as if that's what defines you, but sometimes they also rather lose profits on slow work than to see you have any downtime when you're working in a more optimal pace. The logical thing would've been to assign you additional work to fill the gaps rather than punishing you, but I guess their ego is just too thick for any rational thought to break through.

  • 11:10 This is precisely the problem in teaching. We all know the current testing system has fundamental problems but we need some method of evaluating performance. The idea behind "testing methodology" is to both try to find measurable qualities that are related to what you are looking for and which don't have a lot of confounding factors. The managers here not only had bad metrics, they didn't seem aware that their system could even possibly be flawed. The fact that OP was cheating the system, going from a low score to 100% overnight, didn't raise any flags for them, indicates no one was thinking critically at the management level.

If they aren't getting the job done, then we have a problem and such will be addressed. Working in an office, unless you are at a busy call center, you will *NOT* be working the entire time you are there. So what does it matter? If the work is getting done with excellence what's the harm in an employee being idle? Sounds like this manager is more concerned with form rather than function. And that is *NOT* good.

  • If there is not enough room I will put in comments of this. Hi! I was wondering if you could use my Karen story in a video? I really like you videos! Here is the story: (I’m on mobile so sorry for bad grammar/spelling.) I am only 12 years old but here is my story. I live in a small town with a lot of people who don’t where masks. It sucks. One day I went to Walmart with my dad and there were many people not where if masks (this was before the whole if you are fully vaccinated you do not have to where a mask.) But this one family not wearing masks spread out in the aisle of the store. It just really annoyed us so my dad just passively said “you know there is still a pandemic going on.” We we’re expecting nothing else but then she Tokyo drifted around and said “excuse me?!?!” “It is not my fault that my family has medical conditions!” Boi, if you have a medical condition preventing you from wearing a piece of cloth over you face for five seconds then you shouldn’t even able to yell! Then she keeps going. “I’m pregnant!” ok.. I don’t think you are pregnant but if you are then I don’t think you have been for very long, and that does not mean you can’t where a mask. So we just move on continuing shopping. It is not done there though. It has just began. So, I should tell you that my 5 year old brother was left in the car, it was a very good temp out, the windows were cracked, it is a white car, the doors were locked, AND he had his I pad for entertainment. It is not illegal! So we checked out and we head back to the car to see Karen waiting there in her huge van. “Excuse me! Are you the one who yelled at me in the store?” My dad says “umm... yes.” She is like “it is illegal to keep you child in the car!” It was only like 10 minutes! Obviously she was just looking for a fight because she hadn’t gotten this all year. Small town I guess. Then she says that she called the cops so my dad called her an idiot. So my dad and Karen just yell and yell but I forgot a lot because I have anxiety. I just forgot some of the dialogue. My sad goes on explaining that Walmart has a written rule for masks, but they don’t really follow it, it is sad to be in a small town. You were probably wondering if my dad said this. He did. “Well is you whole family pregnant? Why do none of you where the mask?” She finally runs out of words and turns to her husband. He wants no part of this he has been living with her all of covid. Respect for him. Then she says “can you read? The rules do not state that! Ok, go ahead and put your face diaper back on.” You have to know that we took it off because we were outside. By this time she was filming us. My heart always beats super hard during this so all I was able to say was the “Karen!” She said that she has never had a problem with not wearing a mask all year. Ok but you said you don’t because you are pregnant. I don’t think you have been pregnant for 12 months. I can’t even tell so if she pregnant only like a month.... so I don’t think if I got all this in order but yolo. Also sorry again for all the bad grammar, mobile. Man. Also let me know if you want to use this for your awesome channel!

Also just because someone at the accident scene said it was there fault doesn't mean that we would agree after our own investigation that they are 100% at fault. If there is evidence of comparative negligence, the we will go with that. A video of someone saying they aren't at fault doesn't mean anything.

  • for anyone using teams for their work. I had this same Idle icon concern but so far at my workplace it has not appeared to be an indicator of anything within the structure. Yet I still fear it. Getting teams on your phone and opening it and then turning off the screen or even switching apps makes the tick never go Idle. That's what I do usually.

  • I was told to hide how much I get paid at one work because other people will get jealous and complain. It's stupid

  • Man, I feel bad for the driver who hit OP... they seemed like someone who felt bad about what happened, but just had a shitty lawyer likely giving them shitty advice.

    • @Jimbob Jones I've at least never made a mistake that could have potentially killed someone, no. What if the driver had hit a kid chasing a ball into the street instead of someone's bumper, would you still be so sympathetic?

    • @jokerswild00 Yeah, because I'm sure you've never made a mistake. I keep forgetting how many perfect people live on the internet.

    • That driver reached for their phone after they dropped it WHILE DRIVING, they don't deserve sympathy just because they felt bad for doing something so idiotic

  • Being punished by managers because you do your job too well, sounds just like my last place of work. Toxic as hell there, glad I'm out

  • Have to disagree with comment on the last one. Why I wouldn't be mad at the person I would be kind of pissed at the company if I was your manager and you made more money than me.
