r/Maliciouscompliance She Told Me To Sue Her... So I Did!

r/Maliciouscompliance In today's episode, OP is helping his friend resolve a bogus ambulance bill that is most definitely illegal. He calls up the ambulance company to try to resolve things peacefully, but the representative on the phone is less than helpful. She yells, "So sue me!" The thing is, OP is a lawyer, so he's more than happy to maliciously comply with that request! After he files the lawsuit, the company's lawyer calls back and practically begs to settle out of court.

👌 r/Maliciouscompliance Mom: "DON'T DISCIPLINE MY CHILD!" Babysitter: "lol ok" www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngS42...

  • Oh man, I flipped my car broke the drivers window with my head and was takin to the hospital via ambulance half conscious. Got told I had a concussion and sent home. Got a bill later for roughly 3.5k for the ambulance, and like 2-3k for the hospital bill. I had forgotten about it for so long, but I don't think they ever did send it to collections. They kept lowering the total, and asking me to pay a certain amount that I could which I did. Eventually I had a final bill of a few hundred left. This was on top of my health insurance which had a 3500 dollar max out of pocket. Still ended up paying over 1000 to settle it. Idk if all medical bills are like that, but the other thing I had sent to collections was done as soon as they were able to lol

  • I'm sorry, but so far in every contruction job I've ever had that hired females, they do easier work, and less of it, and get paid the same, even when hired later than the men in all of those situations. So I highly doubt it was simply because you were a women, likely, you were doing half the work for the same pay.

  • I have a story about 3 years of telling debt collectors to fuck off !~ Before getting one who said you know what young man you can fuck off ! So after avoiding everyone for 3 years this man appears in court ! I tell him the same story Ii told everyone else !~ He realized they lied about how the debt had occurred and that i had made attempts to repay it long before collections ! He settled that debt for 10% on the dollar and went on to lead a very successful class action lawsuit !

  • Wow, I work in First Party collections and I can attest that what this lady did at the ambulance company was the exact opposite of what collections are support to do, First Party or not. While many of the protections afforded to customers in the collections process only apply to 3rd party collections, 1st party collections should always strive to follow the more stringent guidelines as several of them do still apply, including that if a Lawyer calls and says they are representing the customer you MUST cease all further contact with the customer and only speak with the attorney. Mind blowing.

  • There was actually a man just today who seemed as judgemental as OP figured Bob was. I was serving a man- black- and he told me clearly that he was going to real quick check which gas pump he was on which he could do by simply looking out the store window. He was coming back the few feet when this older man- white, just like me- stepped in front of him and placed his items on the counter in front of me. No, seriously, my first customer was literally coming back when he did this. I did the sale (our company is strict about non-confrontation) and he left. The first man walked back up, looking annoyed, and we both agreed that man had been insulting. Normally, I wouldn’t call it racism or classism just because he was white and the first man was black, but his body language and his smug look said otherwise.

The lawyer friend would do nothing and the friend would pay and the lady would feel accomplished and proud that she proven herself to be the bigger threat. • The first case is almost exactly what's happening to me. My father passed away back in '18 and they tried sending the bill to collections. My father and I have the same first name, so I guess they just assumed that we're the same person and tried making me pay it. I called Experian and they had the debt removed from my credit report. This happened back in '19, and I thought that that was the end of it. Fast forward to now and another debt collector is trying to pin the same debt back onto me all over again. Just talked to Experian again and they are currently looking in to it again for me. They have been very helpful in the past. If these debt collectors keep this shit up, I will be speaking with a lawyer. And if push comes to shove, I will not back down or settle. Because they have done nothing but harass me with nonstop daily phone calls as they attempt to smear my good credit all over again. 😡

  • The mortgage company story sounds like the same company my wife and I dealt with after our mortgage was sold for the third time. Had NO issues with the original or first two companies that bought out our mortgage, but as soon as CENLAR bought us out we had nothing but problems with them, mainly due to the whole "Partial Payment" excuse except we had one payment that was literally $100 short one month and as a result they did not apply (but held onto our money) the next full year of mortgage payments, which is when they started sending us foreclosure threats and started sending employees to peek in our window to try and determine if anyone was home in an attempt to change our locks on us before they had even filed for foreclosure. Finally had to hire a real estate lawyer and sell the house because CENLAR would not work with us at all on getting the mortgage back on track (the only thing they would agree to was a deal that had us paying the interest each month but nothing was being applied to paying off the loan itself) and on the day of the closing we get informed we were being hit with $75,000 in fines and fees we were never informed of prior. We almost had to PAY to sell out house! AVOID CENLAR LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

She lived independently from us, was on a pension due to mental health issues, & though her father & i would support her, even through bad choices she made. so it happened she was imprisoned, then died shortly after she was released. her father & i connected dots & worked out why. afew weeks after her death, her father recived a letter from federal government stating as he was exceutor of her estate - bulldust she died intestate - he owed the government several 1000's $ because they effed up. paid her pension while in gaol (should not have done so, no communication between departments) & HE needed to repay it. she was released with lots of money to party with, he was expected to pay for their eff up. needless to it did not happen. the stress of this on top of dealing with a childs death is just horrible. this from a government dept called human services.

That's why they might try to screw you over hoping you'll take it. It's also why they offer so many incentives to start an account with them but nothing for existing customers. If you have the option, look into changing. When your existing company realizes you're serious, they may give you a lot to keep you, or you get a better deal with another company. Also make it clear why you left as well.

Uncompliance would be met with zero settlement and moving things to court. That way every single dumb idiot who would be put in her position would know what *NOT* to do when you do not know the law and properly escalate those inquiries to capable personnel moving forward.
