  • Sweet Jeebuzz! The story about Meanie hit me like a ton of bricks! I have never seen or heard of anyone else pulling that stunt on a beyotch besides ME! I ran into a rather nasty piece of work at a Costco not long after my husband's passing. She knew him through her work, and many of her co-workers gossiped about our marriage and claimed I was after his "money". The irony of that was that he was left pretty close to destitute from a divorce, and I was the one with the money! Anyway, this beyotch tried to corner me at Costco, and I rankled at the very sound of her voice. I pretended I did not recognize her and had no clue who she was. After a solid five minutes of her trying to "remind" me who she was, I just shrugged my shoulders and said, "sorry - cannot place you at all". She just muttered an apology of sorts for "bothering me" and then wandered off confused. JUSTICE! You made my day including this story, rSlash!

  • That crow story doesn't sound like petty revenge. It sounds like a guy being a jerk. He doesn't own the beach, he could have moved away if they were being too loud, and they couldn't have abandoned the rubbish if they were still with their in the same spot. Likewise, everyone has trashy conversations sometimes, but what the OP described didn't even sound that trashy. Sounds like he was being a bit of a Karen tbh

You have to figure out real buyers from tire kickers that waste your time and you miss out on the real buyers.

  • When I was in High school, the route we took to get there was down a side street neighborhood. Every single day, a school bus was parked in one direction with the flashing stop sign turned on, indicating that it was illegal to pass it on either side, meaning everyone on either side had to wait for someone to get on. Anyway, there was one resident on the street who got on that particular bus, and every time, they got walked across the street by their mom, boarded onto the bus, then the parent disembarked and walked back across the street, and then the bus would turn off the stop sign and drive away. I got used to it around the fourth or fifth time it happened, but I learned months later that one of the school's TAs got annoyed by it because she never encountered that instance until one day when she took that route and partially witnessed it. I then pointed out the fact that the kid got escorted onto the bus by his mom and she dropped the subject soon after.

She was the oldest daughter of an immigrant couple, her father died young and she was the one responsible of taking care of the house with her mother, including MANY younger siblings. She was a goddess. NO ONE could shame her or trick her. She knew better than anyone in many things, including finance, business management, etc. Even in the stores no one dared to try to sell her or her kids something bad or too pricey, because they were afraid of her. She never wanted to marry or have kids, only did so because she met my grandfather (big mistake I’ll say, he cheated on her for years). Man, I wish I had met her. She’s one of the reasons why I use informally her surname between all of my 3 surnames.

  • The car lot stories reminds me of a story my dad would tell. He had the cash to buy a brand new car ( this was back in the 60's) he went to a dealership and the guy keep giving excuses like he would be losing money selling to my dad (my dad hadn't told him about the cash) it goes on like this for a while. My dad finally gets pissed so he pulls the money out and tells the guy "I could have paid for this car in full today ." Needless to say the dealer just sits there sputtering while my dad hops in his truck and goes to the next lot and bought a 67 nova that day.

  • Can someone explain to me what Spotify has to do with a PS4? As far as I know, one is a music streaming service, and the other is a game, so how can they be connected? What purpose does it serve to have music playing over a game console instead of I dunno... your home stereo? Or are game consoles taking over that role? Kinda makes sense I guess since I've used my PC to play music for a couple of decades now and the only stereo I own is in my car. I just assumed that a PS4 was only for gaming and had no internet connectivity. My experience with gaming consoles ended at Atari.

  • The aunt and the ring very much reminded me of my own entitled aunt too. During the last months of my grandma's life. She had a few jewelries that were precious to her and one of that is a gold ring that has a 3-4 carat diamond. My aunt has laid her eyes on that ring and decided to sneak in my grandma's room to steal it. She got caught and explained to my grandma that she is just going to borrow it for an event she will attend. For weeks my grandma was looking for it, asking on where she put it. Then what happened next is what enraged me so much. She lied about losing it and 'accidentally' flushing it down the toilet, this of course ruined my grandma's day but she believed in her. The next week my grandma finds my aunt just casually wearing it around. As the kind old lady she was, my grandma decided to just let it go and take it all in, before she could visit our home (a worry place for her). The next day she visited our house while carrying the purse where she kept all of her jewelry. She gave me a small diamond ring and a pair of dark ruby earrings for my little sister as our inheritance, while the others in the purse were given to my parents. We were all shocked and of course worried why she is suddenly giving all of her precious jewelry. (We didn't know it was one of the last days we will see her.) My grandmother then explained that she didn't want her last memories to be kept by 'such' a person (referring to my aunt). My parents thanked her for the offer but we only accepted the ring and the earrings to be respectful as we don't want others (my aunts and uncles) to think of it wrongly. She reluctantly agreed and went home after the sun had set. Just a week after she had a heart attack, a complication from her lung condition, she was hospitalized for weeks before passing away. A night before her burial, each and every of her children was to give a eulogy (a tribute speech for the dead) to my grandma. When the time for my aunt to give her speech, my parents' eyes landed on the diamond ring she stole from my grandmother. I literally saw my mom clench her jaw in anger. It was when I realized why they're mad, it was because of the ring. It reminded them how much she mistreated my grandmother when she was alive. My aunt even fueled the fire when she talked bad about my grandma on how she don't mind her own business and won't let my aunt have fun. To cut the long story short, after she gave her speech my family and one of my uncle's family doesn't invite her and her family to family gatherings unless it's a reunion.

My dad would go into the city wearing coveralls, smoking cigarettes constantly. The salemen assumed he was looking for a cheap used car. WRONG! He went into the dealership manager's office and made a deal with the manager as to the car he wanted. When the car was delivered to the car lot, my dad came in and paid the manager in CASH! The salemen got no commisions and my dad and the manager became friends for years after that. The manager made some good money when my dad went in for his next car every 5 years!

Not required, but allowed if we think we can do so safely. Anytime someone would honk at my Mom while she was trying to turn right, she would just relax, wait for the light to turn green, and watch the yobs melt down. Sometimes, it's the simple things!

  • The car story reminds me of 30 years ago I worked in a pretty tough biker bar, nicknamed the MURDER INN. Anyway I was 24 at the time and I worked during the day and the owners worked at night. It was pretty peaceful. This old guy walks in ordered a beer and a shot, went to the restroom, took a different seat and repeated his order, restroom again. By the time he left on his bicycle he had left 4 seats with a $15 tip at each seat. I was amazed and one of only a couple of people in the bar asked if I knew who he was? No, they told me this guy still wears the clothes he wore in 1950, he owned several large apartment complexes and was a multi millionaire. I did not believe it and this was about the time I got my first computer and you could literally research anything for free and fast. They were right and that is an understatement. Just one more quick one I was making a delivery to a winery and this guy in coveralls comes to unload me, turns out he is the freaking owner, another multimillionaire. NEVER judge someone by what they wear you might be very surprised. CC

My grandpa and mom were at a coffee shop, and the shop was crowded, so the service was slow, so my Grandpa went behind the counter, grabbed the coffee pourer, and poured his coffee, and then started serving everyone else. Needless to say, he wasn’t allowed back to that coffee shop.

  • The Car dealer issue reminded me of a story when I was still in single digits, I accompanied my Grandfather on his day of errands, he was working casually for a trucking company... the company at the time had won a government contract, on top of licensing legistlation changes, so the company was looking to do some massive fleet upgrades.. the fleet administrator was unavailable for an appointment with a truck dealership representative. So my Grandfather stood in, he went in in a pair of bib-and-brace overalls, workshirt and straw hat, all well worn, and decidedly heavy stubble. No representatives took him seriously, the young receptionist was more than willing, with technical questions answered by her boyfriend in the maintenance department... she ended up with commissions for a mid seven fugures sale.

  • The "don't litter" story reminded me of something. I was coming out of the store a couple of weeks ago with my groceries...late evening...avoiding people. Saw a car pull into a parking space and the guy inside dumps a bunch of used masks on the ground beside his car and proceeds to pull on a new one and walk off to the store. Well....screw that! I proceed to pull out the bag I keep in my car to toss away used masks....pull on a pair of vinyl gloves (yep, keep those in the car too) and proceed to decorate his car with the masks he dumped...on his wipers, his door handles....even get the duct tape out of the trunk and tape them to his windows. Other people saw this and asked what happened...and joined in. So we had masks all over the car....i then pull 2 aisles away and park...and watch as the guy comes out and LOSES HIS MIND over all the masks. I had also hung the bag (with duct tape) from his door, with a note saying "please discard used masks HERE". I was even nice enough to put a pair of gloves in a baggy and tape that to his window to be helpful and not expose him to anyone else's germs. Petty, but made my day!

From the contents of the email, I figured out that someone had used my email address to make an account. I used my newfound powers to change the password, log in, then change all the information on the account to, "Don't use other people's emails". I guess it's possible they put in the wrong email, but they'll definitely be sure not to mess up from now on.

  • To add to your cadillac stories... I went to a ford dealership looking to buy a truck. I was looking for a top tier truck, such as the raptor or an F-250 platinum. The guy working looked at me, dressed in regular clothes, and after about 10 seconds said nope. Refused to even let me see the interior of a higher end truck. I went to the GMC dealership 2 minites away and bought a Sierra Denali and a used chevy Corvette, at a combined price of 96k. I paid in full with a travelers check, no financing required, and have purchased 3 or 4 more vehicles since then. The salesmen that wouldnt even show me a truck got fired, and I stopped going to the GMC dealership when they hired the horrible salesman about 2 years later. If anyone asks, no im not rich. Never was. I got an inheritance from my granddad, and blew through it. Im an idiot, absolutely, but one who doesnt judge others by appearance.

But, the minute you piss him off (or threaten his sisters, me and my little sister, or our parents), and a 6'3'' lineman nicknamed the "Brick Wall" is whaling you into the ground. Even from a distance, you can tell he can. And the car situation reminded me of a little incident. Some driver got out to yell at my dad for something (can't remember what) but saw my brother get out of the car--and backed away. Didn't have a problem afterward.

Two days later I pulled in to the same dealership in the new Cadillac that I had purchased two weeks earlier. Before I even got my car in park, two salesmen were coming coming over to my car. I put down my window and they asked if they could help me. I replied " no thank you. This was just a test . " they looked at me confused and I explained to them about coming in two days before and that no one came out, because I was in my old car. Then I told them that I would be taking my business elsewhere, put my window up and drove off, leaving them standing there.

  • 40 years ago I pull into a 7-11 to get a few things. The only parking spot is next to a very expensive German car. You know the one with the 3 pointed star in a circle on the front. The jerk had left it running and his door wide open. I pull into the spot and right up to his door and go inside. I see the owner. He was one of two brothers that owned a big Restaurant. I'd had always heard he was a Dick. Anyway I go around and do my shopping. He starts to go outside and sees his car and door blocked by my truck. He yells for who ever has the truck to move. I tell him it's my truck. I'll be done soon. He starts yelling about do you know who I am and all that. I tell him I know exactly who he is an call him an asshole. Then I ask him if he knew who I was. He said he didn't. I told him don't piss me off then. I finally paid and backed out. I told everyone I knew who knew who he was about how big a Dick was. They laughed.

  • I have a "car dealership story" my husband can't drive. I drive us to the local truck dealership in our" mom van " cause I'm done with other people's babies and car seats and kids ( we only have 2 kids pre teens at this time) and the whole fam saying "well you got room in your car you take them I'll come get them in a few"(hours later) I want a 4 seat truck just big enough for us! I get out already did all my homework had the truck order and at that lot. Sales guy comes firmly shakes hubs hand starts asking what hes looking for I tell what I ordered and it was supposed to be ready for me to pick up. He them proceeded to try and sell my hubs this big flashy thing that I knew costed more than my first house. (I do my homework). I said no I am here for this truck, I find my truck I ordered myself. He then tells the hubs" awe that's so cute she wants a " makeup hauler" now let's get the keys and test drive this man's truck. My hubs has no drivers license and can not drive at all. He has repeatedly told this man I am looking for the truck I ordered and following me around this lot while I looked for the truck. He hummers the guy while I got a nice old sales man to take me for test drive and paperwork and sell me my truck. When my hubs and I left in my " makeup hauler" the hubs tells me he had to listening to him go on and on about this trucks many extra features and the guy trying to push him into the driver seat for the test drive, he repeatedly told salesman that he has no license and can not drive, that I was the family driver and I get what I wanted. Such an ass.

  • I had a similar experience back in the '90s where I was waiting in a Ford dealer while they did some warranty work on my employer's truck. I worked in a warehouse, but was nicely dressed in Dickies work pants and shirt (not some ratty clothes.) I was actually looking for a new truck. Not one single salesperson spoke to me while I was in the showroom. Never did business with that dealer.

  • The uncle in overalls story was similar to something that happened to me, although not on such a scale. A small toy store downtown opened up. I went there after work, kind of scruffy looking, Christmas shopping for my 3 yr old nephew. Nobody waited on me, although they approached nicely dressed people. I contacted them to complain and was sent an apology in the mail, saying they would use this in their employeed training. So I went back to the store, same day of the week, same time, dressed the same and eas again ignored. So this time I simply called the store, and they asked for a third chance, but I said no. My not shopping there hasn't hurt them, theyve moved into a much larger place. but I have never shopped with them again as my nephew, and his younger brother grew. I was an indulgent aunt too, but there was no more money from me.

  • spotify security is so shit, like i made a spotify account via facebook, and it wasn't like my facebook account wasn't hacked but due to how the spotify account was made, there was no "password" and someone had access of my account because i could see someone playing music within my mist of my playing and my music stopped. i had to contact support. there should be no reason why you can access the same spotify account via user and password unless you made one before and then link it. but the creation of the account was via facebook an option which they provided.

  • My great grandma’s older brother was a farmer and he was rich when he was still alive. It makes sense, since farmers usually have all that land, and the machinery and all that stuff have to expensive, like you said. I’d expect a farmer to be middle class at the very least. It doesn’t seem like a cheap profession at all.

  • My parents once couldn't get a good deal at a Toyota dealership and it was more than likely because we're colored. My family is comfortably middle class and my mother managed 2 Hardee's at the time and my father was a chief in the navy, so money really wasn't an issue. My parents also don't dress like bums or riff raff, collared shirts and jeans/khakis. They kept trying to get them to buy a cheap used car when they wanted a nice new one. They then refused to haggle and wanted them to take their financing with high af interest even after showing print outs of quotes and average prices of the car they wanted (this was back when internet and quickly comparing prices was brand new). My parents finally got tired of them and went down the road to a Nissan dealership and they treated them so well that every vehicle afterwards they bought there. Even myself and my brothers get cars there to this day.

  • I had just finished college and was waiting for 1 year until my wife graduated so that we could move across the country and start graduate school. During that year, I didn't want to take a job in my field of study (professional career, licensure tests, one year stint--unfair to the employer...) so I took a job driving school bus. In The United States, it is against the law to pass a school bus when the top red lights are flashing. No one wanted one particular handicap route which had a 40 foot bus, so I took it (my major was social work). I had several students who were wheelchair bound. I would usually curb the bus, put on my yellow flashing lights (like every car has) and would unload the student with the lift. This process usually took about 7-10 minutes from start to finish. Durning the time I had the bus curbed, traffic could go by. However, there were several times where I would have obnoxious drivers behind me. On those occasions, I would not curb the bus. I would turn on the stop lights and make them stop and wait for me. The looks on their faces when I got out of the driver's seat, went outside, opened the wheelchair door, went back inside, unbuckled the student, wheeled them to the lift, lowered it, made sure their parents got them safely, put the lift away, got back into the driver's seat and finally turned off the stop lights was priceless.

  • I have a good group of friends who have been very supportive to me. They know what I've gone through. They know I've been battling depression and anxiety for over 5 years. If one of them had a sister like Meanie they will have to remove her because some of the things she said to OP would have been triggering to me and there would have been a fight breaking out
