r/Prorevenge I Sued My Toxic Boss For $500,000! 💰😁💰

r/Prorevenge In today's episode, OP works for an incredibly toxic boss who decides that he wants to date OP. He begins harassing her on an almost daily basis, and even gets OP's coworkers to pressure her into dating her boss. When OP turns him down, he begins setting her up to fire her. OP starts collecting evidence and contacts an employment lawyer. After he fires OP, he sues her for an estimated $500,000! Thanks for the generous severance package, boss!

  • When you have a bad manager, make sure the bosses know. You have nothing to lose. If they don't care, you can still leave. If they are the problem, you can leave if you still want to but you will be helping your coworkers. In the first story the lawyers were smart enough to care about their paralegal staff. They clearly didn't know that Catherine was driving away vital staff. When they found out, they were smart enough to immediately address the problem.

Because there's a ton of stories that start with "this recent business school grad came in" followed by the company going under or at least workplace conditions going to shit.

  • OK, for the last story: manager of an engineering team probably makes between $150k-$200k a year. Let's say $150k. Times 5. Plus bonuses. Plus legal fees. Let's say the bonuses average out to 5% of her salary. And let's say the legal fees were $20k. That would mean they paid her $807,500. Nearly a million dollars. And then she gutted the company's senior staff to boot. Who probably also had contracts. Meaning they likely had severence packages to. Not too. Not to mention the amount of talent, knowledge, expertise, and skill that that company no longer has access to, vastly crippling the amount of money the company can make in the future. Meaning she made a little less than a million. But cost the company tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions of dollars.

  • The last story -- the amount they make depends HIGHLY on where they live. As an engineer, I make about $165K a year, up to about $185K a year with bonuses (not to mention stock, which is where the real money is), and I'm likely making less than I could because I really enjoy my work and very short commute. But, then again, I live in Silicon Valley, where things are insanely expensive. So, they could have lost anywhere between $500K (at the very low end) to $1.5million (depending on bonuses and penalties)

Her entire house costs $100K LESS than I needed to pay for my down payment on our house here (and while it's a decent house, it's by no means incredible) Prior to that, we lived in a 2BR apartment (from the 1980s) that was $3300 a month.

Depending on the field and the state OP was in, her salary was probably more on the 200k side, probably more with bonuses, so let's say $250k a year given how senior she was. That is closer to $1.25 million!

I mean when a person asked the total amount she didnt have a straight answer. When asked again she just switches to verbally abusing him and calling him names. Her answers to other questions also don't quite add up. She has a lot of post with creative stories, I think she is just trying to have a cool life on reddit. I may be wrong but her(or his, you never know) posts really felt made up.

  • Depending on which field and that I'd say 100k fir a engineering manager is a conservative estimate, I am working to be a mechanical engineer and like with just my bachelor's if I get a job at a average in my field I'll make 70-90k per year entry level. If I get into aerospace and get into DoD contracting I am looking at mid 80's up to 120k entry level so a manager I would lowball say 100-200k depending on field and that but yeah engineers can make really good money

    Mike AbendMike Abend17 өдрийн өмнө
